Jagex Reveal Carnage Racing

Jagex Games Studio has today unveiled the first details of their latest title, Carnage Racing, which will be released exclusively on Facebook next month. Code of Princess Synopsis

Gamers take control of the powerful princess Solange Blanchefleur de Lux as she engages in an action-packed battle between man and monster in Code of Princess. Similar to the Dreamcast title Guardian Heroes, the action takes place in classic side-scrolling fashion, with battles occurring on three different horizontal planes. In normal action, gamers can only battle against foes on the same plane, but by locking on with ranged weapons they can deal double the damage to enemies anywhere on the screen. Players can also use special burst attacks to overwhelm more powerful opponents.

Joining the princess on her journey is a cast of quirky characters, including the well-armed nun Helga Wilhelmina, a necromancer named Lady Zozo who is built out of spare body parts, and the elvish bard and trickster Allegio Mantabile Cantabile. Code of Princess also includes several multiplayer modes, with co-op fans teaming up with as many as three friends to earn gold, gear, and experience points in online or local Wi-Fi action. Competitive gamers can also head online and choose from 52 different characters as they compete in a battle royal to earn Princess Points.

Sonic Adventure 2 HD PC Review

So, Sonic Adventure 2 is back. We finally have it up on the Steam. For what I've seen, I must say that it didn't get to be the same error as the port of the first Adventure was earlier.

This note is quite based on the comparation with experience we've seen with the First Adventure on the PSN/XBLA and Sonic Heroes, that came after the original Adventure 2. Can't say this game is way better or fixed than it was before, but it's a relief to see that this one has not been nerfed in terms of quality like the first Adventure. So, we have HD graphics, trophies (yes, finally a good reason to A-Rank all stages and missions)... But this is all to be there. We got no big news beside the chance to mix the best of the original Dreamcast version with the best of the Gamecube version via DLC. Nonetheless, it did not made the same mistake of becoming the bugmass the first Adventure had become on the PSN/XBLA version. 80/100

Torchlight 2 Review

Torchlight 2 was rather famously pushed back to avoid competing with Diablo III. As it turned out, D3 was a huge seller but a bit of a long-term dud, and hack'n'slash fans were left wanting more. T2 fits that void very nicely with huge areas, tons of sidequests, exciting boss fights and oceans of loot. It basically takes everything that was good about the first torchlight, expands on it with overworlds and a better item customizing system, and loses the really bad elements such as continual linear dungeons, dodgy environmental collision detection, and the first game's rapidly declining difficulty. Torchlight 2 is everything a sequel should be- similar to the first game, but BETTER. Runic has also trotted out the graphic bells and whistles if your PC can handle them, but the game still scales nicely and has the original's "fantasy RPG in the Team Fortress 2 universe" look.

There are some nitpicks- skills are rather poorly explained, and it's hard to respec if you screw up a build because of this. Bosses have huge collision areas while the hitboxes on the small fry are tiny, meaning you can easily mis-click when you attack regular enemies and generally end up always attacking bosses in packs. These are small complaints- the core game is tremendously solid with responsive controls and immense stability. If you were let down by Diablo III or even Torchlight 1, give this a shot and you probably won't be disappointed.

PROS:
-More classes, better enchanting/socketing, nicer graphics, bigger areas than Torchlight 1
-Unlike certain other ARPGS, cannot be beaten in 2 hours by a sneaky player ;)
-Immense build customization encourages repeated playthroughs
-Multiplayer comes to Torchlight!
-Cheap! (Unless you import the German DVD release, heh)

CONS:
-Unclear skill descriptions + limited respecs = frustration
-Builds dependent on high-level skills can be VERY frustrating at first
-Randomly rolled spellbooks and enchanters can make the early game very hard or easy based on luck
