Imitation may be the sincerest form of flattery; however, there is a fine line between imitation and plagiarism. In 1987 German developer Time Warp Productions crossed that line when they released The Great Giana Sisters, a side-scrolling platformer that produced an almost 1:1 copy of the opening level found in Super Mario Bros..
