Snatcher can be seen as the spiritual precursor to Policenauts. The games are set in two different and very distinct worlds inhabited by very different people. Also, Snatcher feels less like a detective story and more like a first-person action/adventure game. Its gameplay uses point-and-click style adventuring permeated with occasional shooting sections, and its story touches on the Illuminati and borrows heavily from the films Blade Runner and Invasion Of The Body Snatchers. The story centres on mysterious beings know as Snatchers, who steal the bodies of humans and use them as a host to blend discreetly into society. You play the role of Gillian Seed, and work for a special unit of rangers known as JUNKER who are assigned to draw out and eliminate the Snatchers at any cost.

I love football manager I really do but like most yearly releases you struggle to see the value of purchasing the what is 90% the same game year after year after year. And I am afraid it is even harder this year, The much boasted create a manager feature to put it gently is garbage not many options and when I tried to put myself in the game well I looked like a very dodgy regen with a creepy smile to be honest I preferred it when I could put my own picture in. A lot of things have been tweaked apparently but after 20 hours of playing can't say I have noticed any. Glaring problems such as the match engine players being badly animated with players seeming to float across the pitch with out moving there legs and goal players doing stupid things, yes I know we get the odd howler in football but it is not this bad.

Yes I am being harsh with this review and score but I love FM and want it to do better and hold it to a high standard all the way back to when I was playing when I was 13 signing Freddy Adu. To sum up I do not see any value in this installment and my big gripe about general laziness and minimal effort being put in remains from last year e.g same questions in interviews where we they have not even bothered to change the wording is dam lazy where such minimal effort has gone in every where else.

Final thoughts: A lazy effort and I am dissapointed if you are a fool like me you will buy it every year then moan then buy it next year but if you are sensible buy FM15 and download a custom database for the latest transfers.

Old Games: POLICENAUTS - PC 1998

Released in 1994, and reputedly taking five years to make, Policenauts – a portmanteau of police officer and astronaut – was a science fiction film noir, a detective story with designs on the ‘mature’ gamer. As was the norm back then, videogames that focused on adult themes were generally developed for the PC market, and Policenauts was originally released on the PC-98 and 3DO, and then later on the PSone and the Sega Saturn. Sadly, the game was never localised, which means in order to really get a handle on Hideo Kojima’s unique vision, a fluency in Japanese is necessary. However, some dedicated chaps at Junker HQ have been working on transcribing the game for the last fi ve years. And we don’t envy them either because it’s truly a mammoth undertaking. Depending on which version of the game you play, Policenauts comes with a weighty in-game encyclopedia that fleshes out the culture and the characteristics of its world.

Better yet, the separate parts can be mixed and matched with other power armor models to your heart’s content, and modified for extra perks.


the SKY’S the liMi… oh
the jetpack is by far the best mod we saw. is there a videogame, or indeed a single part of everyday life, that isn’t improved with one? any concerns we had about this not being a truly new-gen fallout game shattered when we saw this mechanical beast take to the skies. Stuff that wearable pip-Boy,  why wasn’t this getup a pre-order bonus?
