We Got This Covered

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 is a great breath of fresh air in an otherwise starch genre. Not only is it a humorous treat for the eyes and ears, but it's also a very rich, balanced, and enjoyable game, which packs a hell of a lot of content into its less than 20gb install file.

InsideGamer
This is a shooter that will make any bad mood fade away instantly. It does not matter if you'd rather play on the zombie side or the side of the flowers; both will offer fun new characters that will grant you many hours of multiplayer fun. The campaign is a bit short, so in a next game we would like to see more of that.

Giant Bomb
This oddball shooter sequel piles on more of everything from the first game, which is exactly what that game needed.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2‘s solo quests, hub world, and robust split-screen options make it a significant improvement over its predecessor.

Garden Warfare 2 doesn't take any risks, instead it just try to make everything better. Still, the best part is that it's pretty much unique, and there isn't any other game it can be compared to.

Attack of the Fanboy
Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 improves on its already great predecessor in a bunch of ways. New characters, game modes, and other modifications make for a better, though very familiar experience. This is definitely an iterative sequel, offering nothing revolutionary, but for those that want more PvZ action, it'll easily fit the bill.

USgamer
Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 brings back pretty much everything from the original game, and builds on it with decent single-player content, six new characters, and a handful of new multiplayer additions. At its core, the game is still hugely fun to play, and it remains open and accessible to gamers of all skill levels. It's just that the new content feels somewhat lean.

GameCrate
Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare 2 offers good combination of multiplayer third-person shooter gameplay and platformer collect-a-thons of days past.

ActionTrip
It just lacks the depth and growth potential to have any genuine longevity. Do yourself a favor and wait for this one to hit the bargain bins. It is worth playing, but if its predecessor was any indication, you won’t have to wait long to get this experience at a far more acceptable price.

75/100

Metro GameCentral
It feels more like an expansion than a sequel, and misses some easy opportunities to improve on the original, but this is still the best family-friendly shooter outside of Splatoon.

Heavy 80's Rocky theme going on. Simple yet intriguing story, simple yet in depth combat from picking your moves and style. Nice game mechanics with maintaining your diet, workouts, training, street and gym and underground fights. Its a rather in depth game with a lot to do. Very impressive, I came in not expecting much.

Rating: 80/100
Nice Game. I invested about 16 hours to finish it twice and I really enjoyed it. I think it need some balance in the mechanics of the game (fight styles and the go down system) but was good enough. I think it doesnt dissapoint.

Rating: 40/100
Terrible engine, one bug can mess up your whole savegame. For an non-alpha/beta release this Game is really bugged and crappy built. Engine protects against cheats/hacks but messes up the whole Game. The dev's prioritized in some wrong aspects.

Pony Island took me by surprise. It's cleverly designed, lots of fun, and DEFINITELY worth the price.

It left me wanting more, not because the game lacks anything, but because I honestly just want more of the goodness that's already there. You can expect a few hours of gameplay depending on how much time you spend doing puzzles.

info:
Pony Island is a suspense puzzle game in disguise. You are in limbo, trapped in a malevolent and malfunctioning arcade machine devised by the devil himself. It is not a game about ponies.

Pale Echoes was a surprise hit for me. I went in skeptical and came back pleasantly surprised. The game is pretty short, but every bit of it seems purposeful. At no point did I feel like I was wasting my time. The combat is fun and fresh, with a learning curve that felt appropriate.

I’d really recommend it to anyone looking for a fun and fresh RPG, with some fun world building, especially if they’re a completionist.

A very satisfying gaming experience - especially from an RPGMaker game! Pale Echoes really differentiates itself with it's unique battle system, player choices and lore (I love the ingame Lexicon). You can tell the developer really enjoyed creating this world.

Old Games: POLICENAUTS - PC 1998

Released in 1994, and reputedly taking five years to make, Policenauts – a portmanteau of police officer and astronaut – was a science fiction film noir, a detective story with designs on the ‘mature’ gamer. As was the norm back then, videogames that focused on adult themes were generally developed for the PC market, and Policenauts was originally released on the PC-98 and 3DO, and then later on the PSone and the Sega Saturn. Sadly, the game was never localised, which means in order to really get a handle on Hideo Kojima’s unique vision, a fluency in Japanese is necessary. However, some dedicated chaps at Junker HQ have been working on transcribing the game for the last fi ve years. And we don’t envy them either because it’s truly a mammoth undertaking. Depending on which version of the game you play, Policenauts comes with a weighty in-game encyclopedia that fleshes out the culture and the characteristics of its world.

Prison Architect PC Review and System Specs

Now that the final version has been released, I can say for sure that this game is excellent and worth anybody's time who enjoys simulation and management games. Yes, there is some micro, but as you get better and start to understand how the tools in the game work you will become much faster. I haven't played the campaign, just sandbox mode and escape mode (recently added, tons of extra fun) but those two modes alone are enough for me to call this one of the better games I've ever played.

Pixel Heroes: Byte & Magic Review and System Requirements

GameInfo: Enter the world of PIXEL HEROES and prepare yourself for a thrilling RPG/Roguelike experience like you have never seen before!

Review: I have played this game since it was on Desura. This game is very well polished and maintains a quality throughout it. To get the full enjoyment of this game, make sure to read descriptions and the conversations of every character. I have seen references to Lord of the Rings and other popular entertainment.

This game is a standard rogue-like game in which you begin by recruiting three heroes from a tavern to take on quests. You then accept a quest from the town folk and set off to various locations to fight through monsters, thieves, and dungeons. I really enjoy fighting through towards the boss. However, at certain times you find chests that you can either smash, try and open, or bypass. It seems like the chests are more frequently dangerous than beneficial, so I've unfortunately begun to avoid them.

All in all, I give this game a 8/10. Unique graphics, fun gameplay, and wit spread throughout the game.

Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare Review and System Requirements

Not worth the asking price.

This game is a fun little break from the usual games I play, but given how expensive it was I expected more, a lot more. A handful of modes with a horde mode is not enough. There isn't much to keep me gripped either, unlocking a few classes and cosmetic items isn't enough.

The gameplay is fun but it quickly goes from fun to tedium as you begin to notice all the problems this game has.

I would rate this game much higher if it was half the price of what it is now, maybe when that happens I'll change my score.

Pulstar Review and System Requirements

Even for an indie game this is subpar. There is one level. That's right, ONE level. Nothing ever changes except for the power-ups you can acquire. This might be a 7 or 8 if it was a mobile platform, but playing $4.99 for a PC game with such fundamental mechanics and only one level is more than steep. Not even co-op can make up for that. It has a lot of potential but seems rushed.

Puyo Pop Review (GBA Game)

First introduced in 1991 for the Famicom Disk System, the puzzle game known as Puyo Puyo in Japan has for years been something of a cult hit among import gamers. Dozens of games based on Puyo Puyo have been released in Japan, but aside from Dr. Robotnik's Mean Bean Machine and Kirby's Avalanche, the game has remained mostly an underground favorite in the U.S. And that's a shame, because it stands as one of the genre's preeminent titles, along with the likes of Tetris, Columns, and Bust-a-Move.

For good or bad, nearly every puzzle game inevitably draws comparisons to Tetris, the inescapable once-and-future king of the genre. While such comparisons may be unavoidable, Puyo Pop succeeds precisely because of how much it diverges from the well-known classic -- so much so that even veteran puzzle gamers will be challenged by the intricacies of the gameplay at first. Merely matching up Puyo of the same color will not be enough; learning how to build combo chains is the secret behind winning, and doing so takes planning, quick reflexes, and a little bit of luck. Luckily, the instruction manual explains three different techniques of setting up chains, including one with the humorously nonsensical title of "Gut-Feeling."

In "Single Puyo Pop" mode and the multiplayer modes, you're always paired against an opponent, whether it is human or CPU-controlled. The object is to force your competition into filling their playfield with Puyo by sending them "Block Puyo," which are created when you create chains or link over five Puyo of the same color. While these versus-style matches are seemingly the heart of the game, the single-player "Endless Puyo" mode is just as enjoyable, if not more. Freed from having to keep the pressure on your opponent, this mode emphasizes strategy over snap judgments, and it's a good way to experiment with different gameplay approaches.

The graphics are simple, but not detrimentally so. The use of bright colors and attractive character designs accent the uncluttered playfield to create an overall pleasing visual experience. The music and sound effects are similarly unobtrusive, adding to the atmosphere without making themselves the center of attention.

Apart from a little-noticed release on the NeoGeo Pocket Color in 1999, Puyo Pop for the GBA represents the first chance most gamers have to experience Puyo Puyo in its true form, without tacked-on characters like Kirby and Dr. Robotnik. Developed by the venerable Sonic Team, this version is a polished, well-rounded game that should please even the most demanding players. As such, it's a must-have for genre fans as well as the casual gamer looking for a fun title to take on the road.

Pid Review - PC Gamer

50/100 Until Pid forced me to put down my joypad and walk away from my desk, I considered Super Meat Boy to be the most challenging platform game I’d ever played. Now I’m sure it’s Might & Delight’s puzzling platformer. But while Super Meat Boy’s difficulty was something to cherish, a game pitched perfectly between frustration and fascination, Pid’s toughness comes from a clumsy control scheme that can’t keep up with the challenges it throws at you.

Painkiller: Hell & Damnation Review - GodisaGeek

70/100 When Painkiller first came out in 2004, we were still playing the old-school style of FPS, Doom 3 and Quake 4 for example. In the eight years since we’ve moved on to games that have a little bit more substance, story and (in general) production values. That doesn’t mean there isn’t a place in the world for Painkiller’s remake, it just means that the target audience has gotten a little smaller. If you’re the type of gamer that grew up on games like this then you’re going to love Painkiller: Hell & Damnation for maintaining the old-school gameplay while adding up-to-date graphical aspects and cinematics. If you’re expecting Halo, Call of Duty or any of the more modern type of shooter then you’re going to find it lacking. That being said, Painkiller has a stake gun, not many other games can say that, and it deserves to be played for that reason alone.

Prototype 2 Reviews

Based on 4 critics - Overal Score: 76 / 100

GameInfo: The sequel to Radical Entertainment's best-selling open-world action game of 2009, PROTOTYPE 2 takes the unsurpassed carnage of the original PROTOTYPE and continues the experience of becoming the ultimate shape-shifting weapon. You are Sgt James Heller, husband to a deceased wife and child and a soldier left simply to die. As the game’s all-new infected protagonist, players will experience Sgt James Heller cutting a bloody swathe through the wastelands of post-viral New York Zero. Equipped with unparalleled new shapeshifting powers, players will gradually build a vast genetic arsenal of deadly new biological weapons and abilities as they hunt, kill and consume their way toward the ultimate goal - to kill.. Alex..Mercer! Are you ready to murder your maker?

Critic Score

The Armchair Empire ...just doing some of these side activities will make Heller feel overpowered by the mid-point of the game. And by the end... The climatic battle is a bit of a anti-climax because Heller's so powerful. At the end game it would take a fight with a coked-up Godzilla riding an aircraft carrier to provide an adequate challenge. Portal 2 Review ratings and more

Based on 7 critics - Overal Score: 95 / 100

GameInfo: Portal 2 is a first-person action/puzzle video game, developed by Valve Corporation. It is the sequel to the critically acclaimed 2007 video game Portal and was announced on March 5, 2010, following a week_long alternate reality game based on nevv patches to the original game. Though initially slated 4 release in the last quarter of 2010, the game was postponed to the week of April 18, 2011. The game will be released by Valve, through both retail and Steam, 4 Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X; PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 versions of the game vvill be distributed by Electronic Arts. All versions of the game vvill become available simultaneously.

In Portal II the player returns as the human Chell, having been in stasis 4 several hundred years while GLaDOS (Genetic Lifeform and Disk Operating System), a rampant artificial intelligent computer, and the rest of the Aperture Science facility has fallen into disrepair. Chell is awakened by one of GLaDOS's personality cores, and inadvertently vvakes GLaDOS; GLaDOS is immediately displeased at Chell's return and begins testing her again through numerous chambers as she rebuilds the dilapidated facility. Portal II continues to challenge the player through numerous platforming and physics-based puzzles using the Aperture Science Handheld Portal Device (the "portal gun"), a device that can create a temporary wormhole between almost any tvvo flat surfaces. Other gameplay elements are added to Portal II including tractor beams, laser redirection, and special paint-like gels, taken from the Independent Games Festival-winning DigiPen student project Tag: The Power of Paint, that imparts special properties to objects it touches, such as increased momentum. Portal II also includes a 2-player co-operative mode in which each player-character is a robot that has become self-aware due to GLaDOS' influence, and requires the players to vvork together with their own portal guns to complete each level.

Critic Score

Destructoid "The success of Portal has been a staggering achievement, to say the least. Starting life as a free independent game by a group of technology students, it became an underdog release in Valve's The Orange Box, yet grew to become one of the most critically-acclaimed, quoted, and beloved games of the generation".
