Plants vs Zombies: Garden Warfare Review and System Requirements

This game is a fun little break from the usual games I play, but given how expensive it was I expected more, a lot more. A handful of modes with a horde mode is not enough. There isn't much to keep me gripped either, unlocking a few classes and cosmetic items isn't enough.
The gameplay is fun but it quickly goes from fun to tedium as you begin to notice all the problems this game has.
I would rate this game much higher if it was half the price of what it is now, maybe when that happens I'll change my score.
Verdict: 50/100

What an amazing game! As a child of the 80s, I had an original NES and LOVED Mega Man, Mario, Zelda et al in the prime of their 8-bit glory. Shovel Knight dips into that nostalgia while being genuinely engaging and entertaining in its own right.
The game provides the perfect balance of fun, challenge, minor rpg elements (powering up mana vs. health), and level progression. The game includes fun achievements, which is something that I appreciate. Combine the excellent game play elements, a fantastic score, and lovingly created 8-bit art, and you come away with the total package here!
I Kickstarted this game, and my only regret is not chipping in more. Definitely well worth the 14.99 retail for those that purchase through Steam. I can't wait to see what else Yacht Club Games come up with in the future. A highly enthusiastic 90/100 for Shovel Knight!

I had the best time racing vvith this simulator and the graphics are next generation!!! This is a must buy for all simulator junkies, but only on the PC. You must buy the best graphics card you can afford to see the level of realism. We are talking almost photo realistic here and that makes it, plus the physics engine, a hell a lot of fun!!! I cannot wait to have time to play with it again and I hope this will not interfere with my work !!!

Space Run Review and System Requirements
First of all I love the so called "tower defense" games so I checked this game out.
It starts out pretty fun, and it has nice pretty graphics except for the unskippable take off and landing sequences.
It seems like it should be a really fun game but the problem is the gameplay is not ironed out enough.
The major flaw is a basic game play thing having to do with understanding and rewarding the player.
If there is no point to it, if I feel I'm not being rewarded for my increased skill, energy, and, or understanding then it's just not fun.
A very obvious example: One would assume that if you only get a 3 star completion for a level you should be able to repeat the level well enough until you can beat it full stars. This is a common mechanism that you would naturally expect but apparently the game doesn't work this way.
This is what makes angry birds fun for example. You want to win the level perfectly and you get rewarded for it.
First it doesn't indicate to you why you didn't get a full star rating to begin with. Then if you repeat the level it doesn't tell you anything else. Even when I knew I played the level better I wasn't rewarded for it. Not a better star rating, just some credits maybe.
Now I'd take these credits and buy upgrades.
But then from how the game scales it automatically increases the difficulty (it scales) according to the upgrades you have.
So here one is trying to figure out how do I play this better, and, or, at the very least think with your new powerful upgrade you will kick some major-A in the level you can't.
Trying to best a level becomes a exercise of futility as you always stay one step short of it, and wrapped in mystery anyhow because you don't know what makes you better (other say doing well enough to pass one).
With this one mechanic sorted out it would have made me stick to the game longer then a few hours.
Also while it was kind of cute and silly, the game dialog wasn't really compelling to me.
Either poorly written, and, or, it didn't make sense to me in the focus/direction as a game.
Play it..it will be fun, but missing the potential to be the addicting game you thought you might come back to.

What is the reason to use Crytek engine - the most slow, ugly and demandable technology, for this simple 3D shooter game from 90x?. Sniper Elite had at least fancy skeleton feature. Always Sometimes Monsters Review and System Requirements
This game is kind of a surprise. I did not know about it - but almost instantly liked it.
pro:
- lovely drawn characters and a lot of choice makes a re-play just as enjoyable as the first time
- the story is nicely done, not amazing in terms of creativity but enjoyable enough
- many of the characters are quite relatable and the "world" does have a nice feeling
con:
- not as open world and choice-based as it may want to be
- the artstyle, while being good, could have been so much better. especially in terms of customization of character
- the UI / engine is fairly bad. screen resize, controls and all that is either not customizable at all or lacking.
my final thought:
a very good game well worth the money! - but also a game that could have been ( and hopefully may become - as in sequel or something .. ) much, MUCH more. what i did not like too much was the mixture between a pretty mature topic / story - and very simplistic chores or minigames.

How, you might ask, does it accomplish this feat? Variable micromanagement. If you want to nurture your colonies from day one, to design every strut and gravatic beam weapon on your ships, and ensure that the right espionage agent ends up on a mission to steal operations maps from your dreaded enemy, you can.
On the other hand, if you want the AI to deal with all the micromanagement and to instead cruise around the galaxy in your prototype hyperdrive rocket, look at the ruins of ancient civilizations and run from giant space lobsters, you can do that instead. You can even combine the two -- more or less -- and tool around in the rocket while occasionally changing tax rates, build orders, and spy/diplomatic targets.
Unlike most 4x games, DW is built on the back of a fairly intricate economic simulator. But wait - simulator - does that mean I can't control it??? Not directly. The civilian economy, all those little freightors, gas mining ships, and tourist vessels... that is almost entirely out of your hands. You can set up your military/industrial base to encourage good civilian use, but the civies decide for themselves whether they want to pick up a load of Cason gas and move it to where you need fuel for your next military campaign.
DW:U brings better pathing, improved AI, and expanded mod capabilities to an already great game.
Cons: The game resolution is set to your desktop resolution because it runs in a borderless window. Consequently, the font can be small and hard to read. If this is a problem for you, one solution is to lower your desktop resolution before launching the game.

The menus are very simple and use friendly, as is the game interface overall. I haven't had any problems or glitches thus far and I doubt anyone may. Not much else to say.
As far as the story is concerned, it's complicated. It's not to the point where the everyday person would be sitting back and scratching their head, but it's where it will make you feel smart for understanding it. Every twist and turn draws you in and makes you want more. I got around 40 hours out of this, with people getting closer to 50. With the mix of sci-fi elements, drama, and modern pop-culture thrown in too, this storyline is as close to perfect as we can get.
The visuals themselves are fairly impressive. The artists could not have outdone themselves more. Combined with the story and music, this could possibly move people to tears.
I would recommend this to anyone looking for a superb visual novel.

CT Special Forces 3 BioTerror Review
![]() |
Attack patterns are simplistic but you'll be overwhelmed. |
Like the rest of the series CT3 is well presented, with solid, chunky sprites and detailed backgrounds. It's a generic side-scrolling shooter, requiring you to walk from left to right, dispatching bad guys. The levels are broken up with different modes of play - eg a sniper mode - and they're an entertaining distraction.
There's one huge flaw though. CT3 has no real save feature, requiring a password instead. Unfortunately, if you're starting a level with a minimal life count, your stock isn't replenished so progressing often means returning to an earlier level in an attempt to conserve lives for later on. This wouldn't be something to moan about if the game weren't so hard.
In all, a decent title that could have done with a couple of tweaks.
Verdict: 69/100

It's terrible when you can't sit and have a snog with your girlfriend for tear of her being turned into stone. It always happens, just as you get to the exciting bit! Well it does to Wonderboy anyway, and he's well cheesed off.
Of course, rescuing his loved one's not as easy as toddling off to the nearest police station and telling them a demon has swiped her. He's got to go on a dangerous quest to free the fair maiden and battle against hoards of evil beings — collecting lots of fruit along the way.
This super adventure on an island takes our hero over sandy beaches, through spooky caves and rock-hopping over treacherous seas. If this weren't difficult enough, all these locations are full of crusty snails, hissing snakes, rolling boulders and other similarly terrifying
creatures that zap away the energy bar with one touch.
Fruity frolics!
The fruit offerings replenish Wonderboy's energy one bar at a time and other icons give axes and boomerangs to throw. Collect enough weapon power-ups and they turn into a super zapper that disposes of any foes instantly. There are hidden icon secrets in most levels giving access to a cloud level with piles of bonuses. Finding them isn't easy though - they're invisible!
The Wonderboy games have been highly successful on every format imaginable. The arcade game was brilliant — I spent bucketsful' of ten pences trying to complete it one summer holiday! They all stick to the same format with multiple sections to each level and a big end-of-level beast to defeat. These are a piece of cake to destroy initially, but after making it through the first few levels you start begging for mercy!
"Full of wild and wacky levels and high on playability"
Tasty Technicolor!
All these platform games are bursting with gorgeous, Technicolored backdrops and detailed sprites — Super Adventure island is no exception. The main Wonderboy graphic's rather odd though — he's got a weird brown line down the one side of his mouth and looks like he's body-popping when he throws something!
There's a wide variety of difficulty levels — it's a cinch up to the end of Level Three, then you face a particularly beastly dragon! It zooms around the level with you on its back while you attempt to dodge lava flows — crazy!
One of the crowd
Platform games like this are cropping up everywhere. Programmers have got to put something new into theirs to make it stand out.
Super Adventure Island has some impressive between-level sequences with Wonderboy wallowed by whales and getting into scrapes. These really bump up the playability rating — you want to complete a level to see what might be around the corner! All platform game fans should take a look at Super Adventure Island It's full of wild and wacky levels and high on playability. Things get frustrating now and then, but you want to keep coming back for more. Loada fun!

Verdict: 87/100
Don't you point your tentacles at me Mr Octopus! Whoops, I wonder if I spelt tentacles right?Hang on, hang only I've got my tie caught in your hair slide! Flippin' slimey git!
You're no fun anymore! You were just like a lump of stone in bed last night! I'm off down the boozer!

The Last Tinker: City of Colors Review, Specs and more
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEh25jNars-zeKu-t6V4j402wjnhUuIKA1nQsRVOTv-REzBuoLvRxkpBylx9wXORkisOgi70h_96eD4xZhR2BQe7m3jgsOqJZheVieMOY8ENa14de1iPsZcH0v7b0kaYnFyTHZBw6lb3PJgA/s1600/Last+Tinker+City+of+Colors+gameplay.jpg)
The Last Tinker's story is pretty straightforward and even sometimes "childlike" in it's presentation which is a downside, dealing with issues like racism, sadness, anger, and fear which is good for kids but doesn't feel the same for adults. But it makes up with funny and cute characters. The dialogue is cringe-worthy and some of the characters are really annoying and cliched to the 'T'. But I absolutely LOVE the world and the lore of this universe. There are three spirits in The Last Tinker, each has a different punch, a different special move, and a different problem to solve. You will find them throughout the story. There is the Red Spirit- Anger, the Green Spirit- Fear, and the Blue Spirit- Sadness. Each spirit is in charge of their own districts. Red Lizards (Red District), Blue Bears (Blue District), and Green Turtle-things (Green District). Which has torn Colortown apart and it's your job, as a Tinker, to bring them back together and to defeat the Bleakness (White).
Sound is top notch, music is phenomenal, and the voice acting is comprised of oohs, awws, chirps, and other noises. I don't like the VA but you can easily turn it off in the options menu and still have SFX and music on. The music is your typical PS2 platforming game OST with some groovy and immersive songs.
Now to the gameplay! Platforming is done by pressing forward 'W' and 'Space' will allow you to automatically jump to a specific platform. Combat is really interesting. So you punch with 'LMB', 'MMB' up, and 'MMB' down and you dodge with 'RMB'. (There are also combos and different moves to unlock; for ex: 'RMB'+ 'LMB') The Red Punch ('LMB') can defeat the enemies in game, the green punch ('MMB' up) can make enemies scared and run into deadly traps, and the blue punch ('MMB' down) can immobilize enemies and are weak from the back. The Red Power is a, for lack of a better word, 'Berserk' mode where your DMG is up and your speed is up. The Green Power lets you freeze time to solve puzzles, platform across fast moving objects, and position yourself in a tough fight. The blue power gives you invincibility against anything including the snow-like bleakness. There are also light puzzles which can be solved with your powers/ punches or with Biggs and Bomber. Biggs and Bomber are mushroom folk that use abilities to solve puzzles and to get collectables. Using different punches shows off their different abilities. There are also amazing boss fights.
Additional Notes: There are many collectables to get throughout Colortown. While some story levels are bigger, the majority are quite linear. The game is also really easy. And the rail sections of the game are completely annoying and are really blurry so you can't see obstacles up ahead. I finished the game in 10 hrs. and there is a total of 14 Steam achievements.
Final Thoughts: I recommend this game to anyone looking for an old-school 3d platformer reminiscent of Banjo Kazooie and Sly Cooper. With that being said, the game suffers from childlike dialogue, story, and presentation. But overall it's a wonderful experience that's worth playing through a few times!

Stronghold Crusader 2 Reveals New Gameplay Trailer at E3
A new E3 gameplay trailer has just been released for Stronghold Crusader 2, the upcoming ‘castle sim’ sequel from Firefly Studios. With the game currently in beta and on show to press, this new trailer spotlights the core features that set Crusader 2 apart from the original:
With less than three months to go before Stronghold Crusader 2 releases on Steam on September 2nd 2014, the small team at Firefly is thrilled to have entered beta with plenty of time remaining for polish and balancing. In a new developer blog post on the company’s official website Firefly talks in detail about new features, the state of development and how self-publishing Crusader 2 has made for a better game.
“The game is essentially finished with all our core systems in place including co-op, unit abilities and dynamic events like the tornado and locust swarm. Self-publishing comes with its own set of challenges but one of the great advantages is that we can release when we are ready, when the bugs have been squashed and the game is worthy of the Crusader name. After taking the game to several public shows over the past nine months we are very happy with the game’s feel. The team has been tweaking areas of gameplay such as unit balance and castle destruction in direct response to feedback received at these shows and it has made a huge difference. Players are telling us it feels like the original Crusader in terms of moment-to-moment gameplay and just hearing that is hugely encouraging.
The whole team feels as though we have managed to make a game that expands on the original Crusader without changing what people found so enjoyable about the original. It is mission accomplished on that front and we still have time for a lengthy beta period to polish everything off before launch. Having to be so vague about our release date, at least until recently, was frustrating but we only wanted to give a specific date once we knew the game would be finished and up to the kind of standard players expect. Soon there will be a great Stronghold game available on Steam, one we can’t wait to get into the hands of players.”

Richard & Alice - System Requirements and more
Richard & Alice has a great mature plot but the short game length, basic puzzles and primitive graphics holds the game back. Definitely vvorth a look if you can get it cheap though and another good example 0f the AGS engine's capabilities.

Super Mario Kart Review
![]() |
It's the balloon game! This is our favourite course - a great combination of winding backstreets and scary open spaces. |
When one's asked what the best game ever is, protocol dictates that the answer should be either Super Mario World or Street Fighter II. And, indeed, both these game scored 94%, the highest mark AllPCGame's ever given. But the thing is fine though these games are, we don't actually play them much in the Super Play office. So what do we play?
Mario Kart has been selling so well on import that its release date has been brought forward to December.
At its hearts is the ultimate driving game, combining stunning 3D graphics, cunningly designed and highly varied courses, a perfect 'driving feel', masses of depth, palenty of long-term challenge, lots of funny bits and, of course, Mario and chums.

Bowser Castle |
But the feather in Mario Kart's cap, the icing on its cake, the bull in its china shop (er...) is the balloon game. This is simply the best two-player game ever. Each game only lasts a minute or two, but it's incredibly competitive, and you'll find it impossible to resist having another go. And another.
Combine this with the grand prix game and you've got the most essential purchase since, well, Super Mario World and Street Fighter II.
Verdict: One of the top three games on the Super Nintendo. Everything about it is absolutely spot on.

Tropico 5 Review
![](https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhYLhAe_ZWMPxLF043xXTmDZUC9TwbDVn9dVuhfeOAle0Fh-j8V49_c0pHFWUhja8-efBtHiozx2tXrkppsZnFqGlJ4tBaursmnQ0of1RH_mEDcvjnB8H8aXFjLV11JQmTEDARVB55Lf_20/s1600/Tropico+5.jpg)
The menus took a little time to adjust, as things have moved around a little but the new look feels very fresh and tidy and once you get used to it, becomes very comfortable and easy to use. The changes between different eras are a very nice touch and slowly as you build your ideal island heaven, new technologies and buildings become available. Because of that, the missions almost gain a storyline to them.
Visually Tropico 5 has more detail and the vibrancy of colours, really bring the city alive . I also enjoy the difference between new constructions through different eras.
Another great quality in this game is the ability to choose the way you progress as different choices help you shape the way your city runs both politically and economically.
To sum up, a really great and fun title that will bring you many hours of pleasure and can be enjoyed by the whole family.
Verdict: 82/100

All 3D Turn-Based Strategy Games With Ratings
Games of this style feature three-dimensional, polygonal graphics and gameplay that alternates between opponents. Turn-based strategy games usually involve competition, if not all-out warfare, between at least two forces. Because the game progresses incrementally and players may have unlimited time to consider each move, long-term planning based on accurate evaluation becomes important for success. Though sometimes included primarily for aesthetic concerns, 3D polygonal graphics allow for realistically varied terrain, including elevation differences that may affect reconnaissance and combat tactics.
